Sparkling Vinho Verde
/Interesting...Discovering new wines is a always a risk, sometimes I'm blown away & other times I struggle to even finish the bottle.
Until today I was blissfully unaware that Sparkling Vinho Verde even existed! But there is probably a very good reason for that Brut Nature, made from Alvarinho/Trajadura grapes with 5 months resting on lees.
Traditional method secondary fermentation followed by 18 months ageing I would describe this as searingly dry, highly acidic, citrusy and grapefruity yet surprisingly yeasty. Worth trying but sadly never again!
