RIP Anne-Claude Leflaive

RIP: Anne-Claude Leflaive, It's very sad to hear the news that Anne-Claude Leflaive passed away on Monday, at her home in Burgundy.

As winemaker she improved the reputation of Domaine Leflaive vintage after vintage. Concentrating on quality above all else and pioneering biodynamic farming. In 2014 she was named Winemakers' Winemaker by the Institute of Masters of Wine.

She took Domaine Leflaive to the very top, producing wines to rival those of the most prestigious wineries in the world and with a price tag to match.   

If you've not had the pleasure of a Leflaive wine you are certainly missing out, every bottle I've tasted has been truly delightful. I suggest starting with the Bourgogne Blanc and going up from there, to Puligny Montrachet and beyond....I'm certain you won't stop there, you'll be off on a journey to discover just how great Chardonnay can be.

This iconic winemaker will be sorely missed.
